Giving to John Muir Elementary in Santa Ana!

Hi everyone!

It's been a busy last couple months for all of us at BODO. Snehal started law school, Nilay is finishing up his Master's degree and Yousaf completed his LSAT and is now in the process of applying to law school. Because we've been so busy it's been hard to update the blog as often as we'd like to but it doesn't mean we forgot about our commitment to our students!

Two weeks ago YOUR support helped us give students at John Muir much needed school supplies. We were able to deliver:
5-24 packs of Ticonderoga Pencils
1-240 packs of Crayola colored pencils
1-24 pack of scissors
2-30 packs of glue sticks
4-240 packs of construction paper
1-400 Crayola crayon pack
AND of course, 150 notebooks for students to use to help them with reading and writing assignments!

It was a great experience interacting with all the students and being able to contribute what we could to the THINK Together at John Muir. THINK Together has been a terrific support and we could not have been happier with our partnership with them. They have a fantastic staff and run a great program for all the students at JM.

There should be an article coming out soon highlighting Yousaf and BODO in the OC Register this coming week and we'll be sure to post the link here!

Thanks again everyone for your past and sustaining support to help these talented and inspiring young students!

First Day on Library Walk!

Thank you to everyone who helped out today at the BODO stand on Library Walk and to those of you who bought a notebook! We had a very successful day and it's all because of you!

Your hard work and contributions will help our goal become reality--we could not appreciate it more. Thanks to you elementary school students in under-served communities like Santa Ana will get new notebooks and from our proceeds, THINK Together can continue it's great work by providing free afterschool programs in these areas.

The BODO team will be out again tomorrow on Library Walk from 11AM to 3PM! We hope to see you there :)

We're About to Launch!

Dear Friends,

First of all, the BODO team would like to thank you all for the fabulous support that you have provided us with! The BODO Project honestly depends on your support and excitement! The notebook sales will be occurring on Library Walk at The University of California, San Diego from April 3-6. If you're in the San Diego vicinity, check us out! If you are not in the San Diego vicinity and would still like to purchase a notebook, please email us at bodostudents@gmail.com and we will try our very best to accommodate your needs!

Secondly, notebooks will be selling for $5.00 a piece, and remember, it's not one notebook you are investing in! You automatically purchase 2 notebooks with the $5.00! One for yourself, and one for a child in need! What better way to give back, right?

Thirdly, our new website is up and running, so be sure to check it out! .

Last but not least, two of the BODO team members can now be viewed on YouTube! Check out what they have to say about The BODO Project right now!

We hope to see you all on Library Walk this week!

-Much love from the BODO Team

Welcome Followers!

Welcome to our blog! Let me start by saying that the BODO team is very excited to launch their project and work with you! Your support is very crucial to us and we request your help to spread awareness about our project!

The BODO (Buy One, Donate One) Project is the brainchild of three former UCSD students: Yousaf Husain, Nilay Shah, and Snehal Desai. Due to a passion for education and the desire to help out our local and international communities, we decided to develop this project and attended President Bill Clinton's highly selective and prestigious Clinton Global Initiative University.

The BODO Project is based on the principle of buying one notebook for personal use and, in turn, donating one to a child lacking that same, vital resource. The BODO team is happy to collaborate with Santa Ana's Think Together Program in donating school materials (notebooks and funds) to low-income Santa Ana school students, as well as low-income students in Mexico.
